    Follow my lead....

Hi my name is Lisa and I am the mother of 4 beautiful kids, a wonderful husband, and am a forum addict. Many of my forum friends are now my best friends in my real world as well as my virtual one. We have 6 bulldogs and 4 desert tortoises, and we live in sunny Arizona. We have always been animal lovers, at one time we had over 10 aquariums of African Cichlids, we have had a Sun Conure, many parakeets, adult desert tortoise, cats and of course dogs......and we look forward to meeting other pet loving families!

Hello, my name is Cheryl and I own errrrrr EXCUSE ME...I'm owned by 2 english bulldogs. Vegas is almost 5 and he has epilepsy. Things are not going so well with him right now.
Orion just turned 3. She is a sweet girl, but very much a handful. Her user Id is SissyBug.
I am just shy of 39 and I've been married for 15 years. We have no children..just the bulldogs. I'm a self taught photographer and I'm still trying to learn how to have confidence where my photos are concerned. I work as a Pharmacy Technician at Costco...hard work, but I really love it. My husband and I own a toyhauler and a set of quads that we love to take to the sand dunes.
I don't have much free time, but what I do have is a love for the bulldog breed. I love moderating on EnglishBulldogNews and I love finding ways to donate to the local rescues.
The hardest thing in my life right now? Vegas. He's a sick boy and it breaks my heart. I don't know what the future holds for him, but I literally have to take one day at a time. It's very hard, but thankfully I have my friends here to remind me.

Ok, ok, my name is Angie, I'm married with 2 children, Andrew 21 and Connor 13... I share my home with 2 bulldogs, Lucy and Billy, and 2 cats Bailey and OJ. I live in the North West of England and am a gastro enterology nurse at our local NHS Trust hospital...it's a hard career and easy to loose faith but every now and then someone reaches out and reminds you why you do it. I love to read, watch movies and be with my family...they are the most important part of my life and I am rarely away from them when I am not working.
I grew up surrounded by animals....living near farm land it was not unusual to wake up and have cows in the garden. Past pets include, budgies, fish, rabbits, guineypigs, tortoises, gerbils, rats, ferrets, hamsters, cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes...from jack Russell's to a Great Dane.
my dream as a child was to live in a house with a large garden and have a cow, sheep and a goat. Now if course I am happy to have my bullies, cats and family

    Re: Humans, Who Are You?

Hi... my name is John, I'm married, and we have a cat named Lynx, a Shih Tzu named Winnie, and my big goofy buddy Bulldog named Moses, or mostly called Moe, or sometimes Momo.

I'm retired Air Force, but I still work for the Dept of Defense, while my wife Peggy is still in the Navy. We have been fortunate that we have been able to manipulate our military assignments so that we could remain in Hawaii for 13 years, as we enjoy it here. I'm originally from California, and Peggy is from Kentucky.

Lynx doesn't want anything to do with the dogs and she prefers to spend the day upstairs in her sanctuary rather than to deal with them, even though Moe and Winnie both love cats and would never hurt her... So if LynxDaCat chats come off as a bit rude towards the dog chatter, it's an accurate reflection of her personality, not mine.

Winnie is a real sweetheart... she is 6 years old and a very well behaved girl. She is small even for a Shih Tzu, but her spirit and courage is huge. We had to work with her to not be so protective of her brother Moe. If any dog, no matter the size, tried to dominate him, she was quick to back them off. She is much better now though after we started regular visits the dog beach to fix her social issue. Her motherly protective insticts I believe came on because we had her spaded just before Moe arrived as a puppy, and with her hormones all out of whack, she was confused about everything and tried to get him to nurse on her... poor girl thought she had a big baby she needed to take care off.

Moses, aka MoeDaBully in this forum, is the result of Peggy working on me that we needed another dog to keep Winnie company while we were away... I resisted for awhile, but finally gave in when she said that I could pick out the next dog... I wanted a big goofy dog that I could pal around with, something that matched my personality, and even though I had zero experience with Bulldogs, they seemed to fit the bill, so I did some research... thank God that I found Englishbulldogsnews because I had no idea what I was getting into. Even after learning about the risks, extra work and expenses involved, I decided to go ahead with it, but making the decision was the easy part, finding the Bully became the difficult task. I could not find any reputable breeders in Hawaii, and the quarantine restrictions on mainland pups left me wondering how I was going to pull this off. I then learned that there were no quarantine restrictions for pups from Australia, which is no further of a flight than the US mainland, so I gave it a go... only to be scammed. A smarter person would have given up on this idea at this point, but I'll admit that my stubborness usually blinds any logic, so I found another breeder, but this time I made sure it was one that had been around for awhile and had a solid reputation. This was one of the rare occasions that I can look back and say that stubborness over logic was a good call, as Moe is exactly what I was looking for... what a gentle loving friend he turned out to be. He keeps us laughing with his antics, and he adores kids, and loves to meet other dogs and cats. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, which was a bit of a concern for us as Peggy took a vicious bite to the face from another large dog years ago, and Moe has helped her overcome the lingering fear she had held on to whenever around large dogs.

I am Jill and I live in Phoenix. I teach early and modern US history at a major university and enjoy hiking, photography, playing ice hockey, baseball, gin, chips and salsa, my nephews, and traveling. I love to visit my hometown, Buffalo, NY, whenever I can.

I am owned by four wonderful pets - Scotches, Linus, Truman, and Lady Jane. They all get along for the most part though Lady Jane does believe the rest are slightly beneath her! Linus and Truman LOVE everyone while Scotches is a sage old kitty, who has seen a lot of things in his 15 or so years.

Can't wait to hear what they have to say about life with me and each other.

I'm Krista and I live in Alabama. I work at an assisted living as a resident services coordinator, so I do activities, administrative work, and pretty much everything else that needs to be done at any time. In other words, it keeps me busy and I'm lucky I can get activities done, lol. In my spare time I surf EBN and read.

Aubie is my bully baby. I also had jack russell named Jack that she loves to play with, but he has become my dad's dog because he loves his dogs and his big yard; I call him the traitor dog, but he bonded so close with the other dogs and I can't be too mad since he's happy. Aubie is my second bully after our first, Aubrey, had an intestinal problem that couldn't be fixed and we had to let her go. I learned a lot from Aubrey, and I am hoping that Aubie gets to live the long relatively healthy life that she didn't. Aubie keeps me busy and she loves to visit our residents where I work (Aubrey used to do this too). They all know that Friday is dog day and are so happy to see her. One day when I am in the right place, I'd love to be a foster or rescue a bully to be Aubie's buddy. Bullies have sealed their place in my heart as my favorite dog and I can't imagine not having one.

    Re: Humans, Who Are You?

I'm Twobit. I used to own guppies, but they all died off after years of keeping (and accidentally breeding) them. Now I want to own a cat and even went as far as studying how to take care of one but there's just not enough space at my apartment. It's a little cluttered, so there's no place to out food bowls, kitty litter or a bed. My only hope now is to move to a new apartment, but I don't have the money right now for that.

In the mean time, I look out for the neighbourhood cats. We have two kitties who like to hang around outside the building, both around maybe at least 2 years old (or adult cats at least). One is a tabby cat who's alpha between the two, and the other is a bi-colored tom. They're called Shaggy and Cang-cang respectively.

I'd greet them everyday and leave some treats for them (I make sure both eat their share at the same time since Shaggy tends to be greedy and aggressive when she sees Cang get his portion).

I'm looking for a way to introduce them to wet food, but they'd always reject it. Probably because they're used to the dry food my neighbours give them, but I hate dry food.

Twobit! Shaggy and Cang-cang sound like they bring you great joy! I am very surprised they don't want wet food. Have you tried giving them some home cooked food?

I home cook for my bulldogs, we give them burger rice veggies and beans. A cat I'm sure would be a little different, I bet they would love some cooked fish on a little rice.

    Re: Humans, Who Are You?

Hello! My name is Lynn, and I live in Tennessee. I was born and raised in New Jersey. My husband and I moved to Tn. in 1977. We always (since we married) had horses, dogs and other critters. Every time we had a private place, things would be built around us. We started out in a "summer " town, so it was just a few cabins and lots of woods and the beach. Then it got built up. Eventually we moved to Tn.,(I wanted Texas-but Tn was as far as he would go!)where tax and property were much cheaper.Everyone welcomed us-as we were the first "as they called us-foreigners". Now there are many people from all over-but not back then! I loved living here-but things have changed so much, and since my husband passed away 8 years ago-all I care about is my animals. They are the only thing that has kept me alive. It is getting harder to keep up-so I don't have as many as I used to. I have had many, many kinds of animals over the years, and they all had names, and were treated like family. Every farmer used to laugh at me because I brushed my cattle, cleaned their hooves, and they came when I called them by name. I had a 2,500lb. beefalo bull, named Frieghttrain,
whom everyone was afraid of-but he did what I told him! I never did have any fear(no sense). There is too much more to tell-but I will bore no more. Thanks for having me on this site. You all are ab out the only humans I have to talk to! Just about forgot how..........
