I recently got a cat from a nearby shelter, but the problem she recently developed some infection in her right eye. Any idea of what it can be?

As a pet owner, the first thing you should do is take your cat to a nearby vet considering the fact that your cat has been in the shelter with other cats. Make sure she gets a proper checkup and meanwhile if you’ve had any other pets around, keep them at a distance from her because you don’t know how contagious this infection is. As far as I know, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, and glaucoma are some of the common eye diseases a cat can contract. It can also be a mild infection. My recommendation is to take her to the vet as soon as possible or start with contacting vets online. If you know a vet, you can share the pic of the infection with them or getting help online is also an option.
